Secret Letter from Iraq
I just read this letter from Time magazine. I was helping my husband prepare for his deployment to Iraq when it came out, so I wasn’t spending much time on the media.
The “most profound man” made me laugh.
The “biggest hassle” part totally reminded me of Angelina Jolie and the way she traipsed into Iraq whilst pregnant demanding meetings and tours with generals about locals. It surprises me how self-centered celebrities get away with using helpless populations as a facade for their self-aggrandizing intentions. As I recall, not much came of that visit other than hi-lighting what we already know about the refugee situation. On another level, I’m sure many Iraqis also think the same about Bush. Funny how that works on so many levels and how most Americans buy it up no matter how it’s packaged.
